Hello #Friends of Sonobudoyo, the big family of the Sonobudoyo Museum wish you a happy 266th anniversary of the City of Yogyakarta.
The anniversary of the City of Yogyakarta is commemorated every October 7, which is the event of sending Sri Sultan HB I from Pesanggrahan Ambarketawang to the Yogyakarta Palace in 1756.
Did you know, at this year's anniversary celebration, the Yogyakarta City Government carried the theme Sulih Pulih Luwih. Sulih means moving and adapting to a better situation. Recovering means recovering, and Luwih means developing for the better.
That way, the Sulih Pulih Luwih theme has a meaning as a form of the condition of the City of Yogyakarta which can get through the Covid-19 pandemic in a better phase.
The collection is a collection of symbols of the City of Yogyakarta at the Sonobudoyo Museum. The emblem consists of a star, written by Mangayu Hayuning Buwana, rice and cotton, Tugu Jogja, keris, gunungan, shield, and two wings.
There is also a sengkalan that reads Gunaning Keris Anggatra Kota Praja (1953 AD), which was the beginning of the use of the symbol and the sengkalan reads Warna Hasta Samadyaning Kotapraja (1884 Java).
